“…I was empowered.  I was encouraged.  I feel ever more optimistic about the future of medicine
and the delivery of primary health care and preventive health services to our patients.”
–Jerry Abraham, MD, MPH

CAFP’s All Member Advocacy Meeting (AMAM) is a great two-day event of advocacy training and leadership skills development learned alongside your fellow family medicine champions who share your enthusiasm for your patients and the specialty.  This meeting transforms dedicated, socially-minded family physicians into superstar advocates! Our All Member Advocacy Meeting will be held at The Citizen Hotel Saturday and Sunday, March 4-5, 2017 followed by our Family Medicine Lobby Day on Monday, March 6.

Please note: As of January 27, our block at the Citizen Hotel is FULL but additional hotels in the area are still available

This meeting is open to all CAFP members, regardless of whether you are a Delegate or Alternate from your county chapter or a general attendee. Delegates and Alternates continue to play an important role at the AMAM. They elect CAFP officers and oversee policies approved by the Board of Directors during the past year, including action taken on resolutions submitted and testified to at the AMAM. Your participation will give you the advocacy and health policy experience and skills to effectively fight for health equity throughout your career!

This program has been approved for 8.5 prescribed credits!

If you have any questions, please call CAFP at 415-345-8667 or email us at We can’t wait to see you in Sacramento!

Attending the AMAM is important because physicians:

  • Offer testimony on policy proposals for consideration by the CAFP Board
  • Collaborate with colleagues from around the state on key issues
  • Advocate for legislation that affects their practices and patients
  • Lead the way in advocacy work for students and residents

The deadline for receipt of resolutions for the 2017 CAFP All Member Advocacy Meeting (AMAM) was December 9, 2016. Resolutions that were submitted by the deadline will be included in the Delegates Handbook accompanied by Fiscal and Speaker’s Notes, as needed. The Handbook will be available in early February.  Resolution authors and others are invited to testify before the CAFP Board of Directors during the AMAM.  No action will be taken on the resolutions at the AMAM, but the Board will consider what actions should be taken during the course of the year and will report back at the next AMAM as to their disposition.
